Rev Philip Micah Dopah, Chairman of the TEKAN/ECWA bloc of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Taraba State, has called on Governor Agbu Kefas to urgently sack incompetent Commissioners in his administration.
In an interview with SUMMIT POST in Jalingo, Dopah lamented that 80% of the Commissioners are not performing their duties effectively. “This crop of Commissioners don’t know their jobs; they need to give way to competent professionals,” he stated.
While acknowledging the Governor’s effort in appointing youths into governance, Dopah noted that many of them lack the charisma and expertise required for the office of a Commissioner. “The state cannot continue this way; the Governor should relieve those who are not doing well to enable the state maintain its high profile status,” he urged.
Dopah emphasized that a Governor’s success depends on surrounding himself with capable hands. “Governor Kefas is a God-sent messiah to our dear state, and we need someone like him to free us from bondage,” he said. He also compared Taraba State to neighboring Gombe State, noting that Taraba is backward in development.
The clergy’s call for the sacking of incompetent Commissioners is seen as a move to enhance the performance of the state government and ensure effective service delivery to the people of Taraba State.
