The Honourable Commissioner for Social Justice and Re-Integration, Dr Filister Irarimam Musa, has been conferred with the traditional title of Yar Amanar Zing by the Kpanti Zing, HRH Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim Sambo.
The chieftaincy honour was bestowed in recognition of her contributions to Mumuye land and Taraba State at large.
During a ceremony at his palace in Zing Local Government Area, the Kpanti Zing emphasized that the recognition was not just a personal honour for him but a moment of pride for the entire Zing community.
“The Traditional Council decided to honour Dr Filister Musa because of her remarkable service and positive impact on our people.
This recognition is a reflection of our appreciation for her contributions,” the monarch stated.
He further announced that on April 3, 2025, after the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dr Musa and other distinguished sons and daughters of Taraba State would be officially turbanned and inducted into the Zing Traditional Council of Chiefs.
The paramount ruler praised Dr Musa’s leadership and commitment, stating that she is a woman of substance who has significantly influenced the development of the community.
In her acceptance speech, Dr Filister Musa expressed deep gratitude to the Kpanti Zing and his council, describing the honour as a historic moment in her life.
“On behalf of my family, staff, and constituents, I express my heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Highness, the Council of Chiefs, and the people of Zing. Being accepted as a daughter of this land is truly humbling,” she said.
Dr Musa pledged to uphold the trust bestowed upon her and urged the people of Zing to continue supporting Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, who gave her the opportunity to serve in his administration.
The Commissioner’s entourage included the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr Abdulmumni Shitu, Secretary Mrs Rebecca Julius, and other dignitaries.
