Governor Agbu insisted that his government would be people centred and all policies will be based on the identified needs of the people
“As I earlier said, 80 percent of my commissioners will be young people, so that we can have a succession plan and also have results. That is why I have appointed well experienced and matured persons as SSG and Chief of Staff, so that they will be a guide to the young persons. I just want to carry people along otherwise, I can roll out my Commissioners today.
“Our development approach is people based and we will get back to them for what they want from us since we are here to serve them. We have our templates and blueprint in place and we will align it with the needs of the people in the course of our intensive interactions with them.
“Governance is a continue. We would look at all ongoing projects and those that have been commissioned without been completed will be reevaluated. Anything that is good for the people of Taraba will not be abandoned.
He said that with his Military and public experience, he will choose the best people to work with.
He disclosed that he will declare state of emergency in the education sector.
“State of emergency would be declared in the Educational sector, especially in Primary and Secondary schools.
“Civil Servants would always get salaries on time, and pension would be settled while gratuity will be paid.
He added that his administration will look into issue of Power, Office Accommodation to ensure comfort for civil servants to do their job.
He said that his administration would be practical and direct to the lives of the people.
“We will go round the 16 local governments and see both short and medium term needs of the people.
“I will also collaborate with international communities to mine the resources in the state for the benefit of the people.
On the rumour making the round that the operating time for Motorcycle riders have been extended from 9 pm to 12 midnight. No statement have been giving regarding the extension of time. The closing time remains 9 pm.
On projects carried out by the immediate past administration of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, he said:
“Governance is a continue. Commission of enquiry would be set up, Auditors will carry out their responsibilities in checking the right and the wrong. Probing enquiry are necessary things to be done. We will go round and check both completed and none completed. We will set a committee for their completion.
He promise to carry women along in his administration.
“We have a lot of things to offer to women in our administration. We will look for qualified women to occupy key positions,” he said.
