Taraba State Police Operatives Arrested Suspects For Murder, Car Theft, Recovered Stolen Vehicle

The state command of the Nigeria Police has arrested four suspects for murder car theft and recovered stolen vehicle.

In a statement issue by the
Ag-Police Public Relations Officer ASP James Lashen Saminu, for the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Police Command, Emmanuel Simon Bretet, said that the command successful recovered a stolen vehicle along Wukari – Mutum Biyu road.

The statement reads,

“Acting on credible information, on 08/07/2025, operatives attached to Wukari division, successfully arrested one Dauda Usman 45yrs ‘m’ of yam market area Wukari , Fulani by tribe and one Japhet Shekarau 30 yrs ‘m’ of behind TSBS buster station Wukari , Jukun by tribe in connection with the killing of one Idiris Papa’m’ 30 yrs from Kano state , who was killed on 27/03/2025 and one Abdulkadir Ahmad’s ‘m’ of Guedes LGA , Bauchi State, who was killed on 7/05/2025.

“They were both running motorcycle business in Wukari , the suspects carted away their motorcycles after killing them.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed that the crime and also mentioned one Habibu Dahiru ‘m’ of Gindin Doruwa in Wukari as the receiver of the stolen motorcycles , he was also arrested and the case is under investigation.

In another development, on 08/07/2025 at about 1830hrs , an information received through a phone call from one SP Emmanuel Asso serving in Anambra state , has it that, on 5/07/2025 at about 2130hrs , a Toyota Camry car , ash in color with Engine NO: 2AZB453544, Chasis NO: 4T1BE46K17U010111 , Licenced plate No. PBT931BQ , belonging to one Ugwa Solomon Ikechukwu ‘m’ of third avenue Ada George , Port Harcourt was snatched from him on gun point by two armed men after shooting him.

“Upon receipt of this information, operatives attached to Wukari Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer CSP Jerry Anthony, swung into action. They intercepted the car at Kambari Area along Wukari -Bantaje road and arrested the driver, one Umar Jabo 30yrs ‘m’ of Jalingo , Taraba state.

The Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Emmanuel Simon Bretet, , commended the detectives for their gallant action.

He reassures the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring that the state remains peaceful.

He further stressed the need for continues collaboration in the area of information sharing which is vital in making Taraba safe.
