The annals of Igala history are replete with tales of valiant leaders who have been maligned and besmirched by detractors seeking to undermine their greatness. It is thus with a sense of déjà vu that we witness the same tactics being deployed against our current leader, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, that were once used against our late leader, Prince Abubakar Audu. For over two decades, these forces of darkness have remained unchanged, seeking to destroy our upcoming leaders with the same brush of falsehood and deceit.
I recall the calumnies heaped upon Late Audu, labeling him as egocentric, pompous, and arrogant, with spurious claims that he demanded people sit on the floor before him. But, these allegations were nothing but a tissue of lies, as I discovered firsthand when I met Late Audu in his house at villa. He welcomed me with open arms, inviting me to sit beside him on the same chair, a gesture that spoke volumes about his humility and character.
Today, the same playbook is being used to malign Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, with known quacks and charlatans peddling falsehoods and insults on social media for a token’s. These individuals lack credibility at the grassroots level, with some unable to return home due to their questionable character. The likes of Odu Comrade, a known impersonator who has masqueraded as NANS PRO and staff of RMAFC, are now brazenly attacking our leader. But, the good people of Igala land see through their machinations and recognize them for who they are mere agents of destruction.
The passing of Audu was a tragedy, but we will not allow these bad elements to repeat the same pattern of destruction with Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka. Enough is enough! We stand united behind our leader, and we will not be silent by the empty rhetoric of these detractors.
To Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, we say: you have our unshakable support and loyalty. Continue to lead us with vision, courage, and integrity, and together, we shall build a brighter future for Igala land.
