President Bola Tinubu chaired the first National Council of State meeting since assuming office in May 2023, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to address Nigeria’s challenges.
“We must work together to build a better future for our nation,” Tinubu said, opening the meeting attended by former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, state governors, and other top officials.
Former President Jonathan stressed the importance of unity, saying, “We must put aside our differences and work towards a common goal.”
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State added, “This meeting is a step in the right direction. We must collaborate to tackle the economic and security challenges facing our nation.”
The meeting comes after the #EndBadGovernance protests, which highlighted the need for good governance and economic relief. National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu noted, “We must listen to the voices of Nigerians and work towards addressing their concerns.”
