Former President Donald Trump has announced plans to remove all remaining U.S. attorneys appointed during President Joe Biden’s administration, vowing to “clean house” in the Department of Justice.
In a statement shared on social media, Trump claimed that the Justice Department had been highly politicized over the past four years and that immediate action was needed to restore confidence in the system.
“Over the past four years, the Department of Justice has been politicized like never before. Therefore, I have instructed the termination of ALL remaining ‘Biden Era’ U.S. Attorneys,” Trump declared. “We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY and restore confidence.”
The move signals Trump’s intent to overhaul the justice system, a central theme in his campaign rhetoric as he seeks a return to the White House.
His remarks echo previous criticisms of federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies, which he has accused of bias against him and his allies.
The announcement has already sparked significant debate, with critics warning that such mass terminations could further politicize the justice system, while supporters argue it is a necessary step to address alleged partisan influence within the DOJ.
