Truth Beyond Politics: Chief Uche Nnaji’s Academic Journey Is Genuine

By Prof. Owo Chinweuba

In a time when misinformation often masquerades as truth, integrity demands that facts be clearly stated and upheld. The recent fabrications circulating about the academic history of Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, are not only misleading but also a deliberate affront to truth and intellectual honor.

As someone who studied alongside Chief Uche Nnaji at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), I affirm without hesitation that he duly graduated from the institution. His inclusion in the list forwarded by UNN to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for mobilization is indisputable evidence. This process is governed by strict institutional protocols, no candidate is mobilized except after meeting all academic requirements and being formally cleared by the university senate.

Chief Nnaji successfully completed his coursework, satisfied every graduation criterion, and served his nation through the NYSC. To question his academic legitimacy is therefore to question the integrity of UNN itself an institution globally respected for its academic rigor and credibility.

Unfortunately, the spread of politically motivated falsehoods has become a common tool in today’s public discourse. Some individuals, rather than engage in issue-based dialogue, resort to concocting stories aimed at diminishing the reputation of credible leaders. Such tactics are unbecoming of a civilized political culture.

Character assassination should never replace reasoned debate. A thriving democracy is sustained by truth, respect, and a shared commitment to justice not by malice or manipulation. Those who weaponize lies for short-term political gain only expose their moral bankruptcy and disdain for truth.

Chief Uche Nnaji’s record marked by industry, innovation, and patriotism remains untarnished by propaganda. His journey from student to national leader exemplifies resilience and intellectual discipline.

I call upon well-meaning Nigerians to reject these baseless claims and to embrace a culture that honors facts. Let us remember: education is a sacred trust, not a political bargaining chip.

Chief Uche Nnaji is, and remains, a proud graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Truth must prevail, and history will always vindicate those who walk in integrity.
