UMCN Bishop Inaugurates 13 Board Members to Strengthen UMCN Health Department.

In its efforts to strengthen the health care system of the Church, the United Methodist Church Nigeria UMC has inaugurated a thirteen Board Members.

Performing the inauguration at the United Methodist Church UMC Negatavah, Charge, Jalingo, the Bishop of UMC, Bishop Ande Emmanuel charged the Board Members to resuscitate the Health Department of the church.

“Your appointments are based on merit you should come up with initiatives that will revive the sector to assist the government in meeting the health needs of the public.

He congratulated them, saying the church would provide them with the needed support as part of its commitment to offer healthcare services to the masses.

“The UMC Health facilities in Zing, Filiya, and rural areas are functional, though they need to be given the desired attention to thrive.

He tasked them to embark on a UMC Health facilities tour to assess and note its challenges to enable the Church to address them.

Responding, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Board, Mark Tukur, reiterated the readiness of the members to justify the confidence reposed in them.

He appreciated Bishop Ande Emmanuel for finding them worthy to lead the affairs of the UMC Health Department.

Earlier in a exhortation,the President of the West Africa College of Bishops and the Resident Bishop of Liberia, Bishop Samuel Jerome Quire encouraged members to always go for medical checkup to know their health status.

“The UMCN is working round the clock to revive its Evangelism through the health sector, members should give in their best for maximum results.

“Only the healthy can serve the Lord, hence the need for all to take good care of themselves to be fit to serve God – he said.

Those inaugurated are, Mark Tukur – Chairman, Bala Sale, Raymond Yoila, Paul Yusuf, Naomi Agabus, and Ishaya Vocks.

Others are Hurera Ishaya, Reuben Bawa, and Loyal Nelson, among others.
