The United States and Russia will hold talks in Saudi Arabia starting Tuesday to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Key US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, will attend, along with a Saudi delegation led by their national security adviser.
The talks aim to mediate a resolution to the war, though Ukraine will not be directly involved.
On the same day, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK is prepared to send troops to Ukraine if necessary to ensure peace.
He also urged European countries to increase defense spending and emphasized the importance of US support in securing lasting peace.
Starmer is set to meet with other G7 leaders in the coming days to discuss the situation.
As tensions rise, an emergency summit on Ukraine is scheduled for Monday, with European leaders discussing their concerns about potential US-Russia negotiations and the future of NATO.
