The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in November 11, 2023 Kogi governorship election, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has urged Kogi Christians to pray for peace, unity and salvation of the State.
Ajaka stated this in a felicitation message he personally signed.

Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka Easter Message To The Christian Brethren.
I celebrate this special day of Easter with the Christian brethren of our dear state, nation and worldwide. The historical occasion of today is rooted in the christian faith in remembrance to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross and his resurrection.
As the celebration of this day is synonymous to selflessness, sacrifice and love, I’m admonishing the brethren to embody all the virtues of what this day signifies. Anywhere there is sacrifice, love and selflessness ;there peace, unity and progress will be inevitable.
We must use this historic day to pray and recommit ourselves to the quest of the salvation of our state, patriotism to our nation and tolerance for one another irrespective of faith, tribe, affiliation to political party and other sentiments.
While we celebrate, I’m renewing my call for the peaceful coexistence of all kogites within and outside the state. There is no other truth outside the known and established fact that we are one united family.
