Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, paving the way for a potential summer transfer. According to Turkish journalist Serdar Ali Çelikler, Osimhen has settled on a five-year deal worth €15 million per year net, which translates to approximately €288,461 per week.
The 26-year-old striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been impressing with 29 goals and six assists in 34 games. Manchester United’s interest in Osimhen is driven by their need for a top striker, following Rasmus Hojlund’s disappointing performance this season.
“Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter,” Çelikler noted, highlighting that the transfer fee still needs to be finalized. Napoli, Osimhen’s parent club, is reportedly willing to lower his release clause from €75 million to €80 million to prevent rivals Juventus from signing the striker. Manchester United has offered €60 million, which Napoli is likely to reject.
Osimhen’s contract includes a clause that would extend it by one year if a sale isn’t completed by June 2025. Galatasaray, where Osimhen is currently on loan, is eager to retain him but faces a significant challenge due to his €75 million release clause. The club’s top official expressed their desire to keep Osimhen, stating, “We want Victor Osimhen to stay with us.
Other clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, have shown interest in Osimhen. However, Manchester United appears to be the frontrunner in the race, with manager Ruben Amorim keen on signing a top striker. Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United player, has also advocated for signing Osimhen, citing his experience and goal-scoring ability.
“Osimhen signs 5-year deal with Manchester United. A transfer fee of 60 million euros will be paid. The football player will receive a net annual salary of 15 million euros,” journalist Aygün Özipek wrote, corroborating the reports of Osimhen’s agreement with Manchester United.
