Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed gratitude for the support he received from Christ Embassy Church during his difficult teenage years.
Osimhen revealed that after finishing secondary school, he had to stop playing football for two years to support his family financially. However, his life took a turn when he started working with Christ Embassy, directly under the guidance of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
“I stopped playing football for two years after finishing secondary school because my family needed money,” Osimhen shared.
“I was the youngest child of my parents, but I wanted to support them. I started working at Christ Embassy Church, directly under Pastor Chris. About 15 of us from the same neighborhood worked together, distributing Rhapsody of Realities books, and we were paid good money.”
Osimhen stressed the kindness and support he received from Pastor Chris, saying, “Pastor Chris is a kind-hearted man. He prayed for us, fed us, and provided housing. I lived in the church for about five months, only returning home on weekends to see my family.”
Today, Osimhen supports Christ Embassy financially, acknowledging the positive impact the church has had on his life and community. “I support Christ Embassy today financially because I know what they do for our community,” he said.
“They help a lot of people, but we hardly see it on the news. We have so many schools and hospitals built by churches. We have community water projects built by churches and so much more.”
