In a bold statement, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, currently embroiled in a significant land scandal, has dismissed opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, as politically obsolete. Speaking at the inauguration of a new road in the Ushafa-Bwari area of Abuja, Wike criticised those who frequently shift political allegiances, claiming that nothing is progressing under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“Let them take note. Those lacking vision and who have jumped between over ten political parties since 1999 should witness our achievements,” Wike asserted.
He further remarked, “No matter how they choose to observe, they will see what the President is accomplishing. Yet, some claim nothing is happening. Must we visit their homes for them to realise progress? Regrettably, we will not be doing so.”
Wike’s comments come as numerous schoolchildren and workers in the Federal Capital Territory protested at the FCTA office, calling for the reopening of schools that have been closed due to a prolonged strike, while teachers and FCTA employees demand overdue salaries and allowances.
