Nigerian music sensation Wizkid has made a shocking revelation about his childhood crush on renowned actress Genevieve Nnaji.
In a recent interview, Wizkid confessed that his infatuation with Genevieve was crushed when she called him “my son” during their first meeting.
“I used to have a crush on Genevieve until I met her and she called me ‘my son’. She broke my heart,” Wizkid revealed.
The singer further explained that he had been smitten with Genevieve since childhood, watching her movies and fantasizing about being with her.
However, when they finally met, Genevieve’s maternal demeanor towards him instantly killed his crush.
“I really had a huge crush on Genevieve, like I had pictures of her all over and I thought one day I’ll have her in my bed.
But when I met her, she was like my aunty and she called me ‘son’ then the crush just died,” Wizkid recalled.
Wizkid admitted that he was heartbroken for weeks after the encounter, unable to reconcile his childhood fantasy with the reality of Genevieve’s maternal affection towards him.
“Since I was a kid, I used to watch Genevieve’s movies and I just fell in love with her, but when I met her and she called me her son, it broke my heart. I cried for weeks,” Wizkid confessed.
