The U.S. Mission in Nigeria highlighted Buhari’s efforts in restoring trust in public office and strengthening democratic institutions.

A statement acknowledged his legacy of service, discipline, and leadership during challenging times.

The African Union Commission remembered him as a committed Pan-Africanist.

The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria also honored Buhari’s role in strengthening ties between China and Nigeria, stating that his contributions to diplomatic relations will not be forgotten.

Tributes also came from African leaders, including Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who extended condolences on behalf of his country.

Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio called Buhari’s death a major loss to the region and expressed sympathy to his family and the Nigerian people.

Popular Islamic scholar Mufti Menk praised Buhari’s devotion to faith and his example of integrity and discipline, recalling his personal respect for the former president’s character.
