Shuaibu Ishaq, also known as Onakpa, a young Nigerian writer and political commentator based in Abuja, is preparing to attempt a Guinness World Record for the longest public book writing session by an individual.
The event is scheduled to take place from September 28 to October 1, 2025, in the Central Business District of Abuja.
The 72-hour write-a-thon will be held live and in full view of the public.
Shuaibu’s goal is not just to set a record, but to turn writing into a tool for public engagement.
The project aims to bring attention to civic storytelling and create a space for national conversations led by young voices.
According to Shuaibu, the book he plans to write during the event will cover Nigeria’s political path with a focus on the frustrations and voices of the youth.
It will explore key developments in governance and offer critical insight into President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s time in office.
The work will blend satire, commentary, and real stories to present ideas on leadership, accountability, and the future of the country.
The official announcement of the record attempt is expected to be made public on Shuaibu’s Facebook page on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
He is calling on Nigerians and people worldwide to follow the journey and support the event as it unfolds.
Shuaibu is encouraging media outlets, writers, and the public to get involved through coverage, interviews, and partnerships. He sees this as more than a personal challenge—it’s a youth-led civic project meant to open up dialogue and show how storytelling can bring people together.
