The Galaxy Backbone and Zamfara State government, has partnered to drive a digital transformation initiative aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery across the state.
Speaking during the meeting, the Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, expressed enthusiasm for the growing relationship, while receiving the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, in his office.
The collaboration was highlighted during a meeting where the both parties outlined the areas of partnership and the potential benefits for Zamfara.
Adeyanju recalled that the partnership includes the deployment of high-speed fiber optic cables covering major cities like Tsafe, Gusau, and Bungudu, with plans to extend to eight additional local government areas.

Professor Adeyanju said: “We are committed to providing robust digital infrastructure, state-of-the-art cloud solutions, and seamless connectivity services to empower Zamfara with the necessary tools for innovation, efficiency, and transparency in governance.”
In his response, the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, noted that the state situation has changed in his administration.
He said that the state’s monthly internally generated revenue grew to N1.3 billion under his administration from below N90 million.
Dr Lawal said: “It is interesting to know when we took over, our Internally Generated Revenue was just under N90 million as a state which shows that something fundamental was wrong.
“We made conscious efforts to change the trend. Technology was what we used in changing the trend by blocking leakages in the system. I am happy to say that as of today our IGR has grown to N1.3 billion.”
He said with the use of efficient technologies the state was able to block revenue leakages.
