The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027 has been officially flagged off in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The movement was established as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and the Agbu Kefas/Zainab Ibrahim, popularly known as Anty Zee, ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, Governor Agbu Kefas said Taraba State was prepared to mobilise support for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He said his administration was implementing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda through various development projects and programmes across the state.
“This is unity in progress. When leaders come together for the progress of Taraba and the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), the future is bright,” he said.
Representing the convener of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, Kestop Pondi urged Taraba residents to support President Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate its economic reforms and development programmes.
He said government policies required time to produce lasting results and urged members of the movement to take the mobilisation campaign to communities, households, churches and mosques across the state.
Pondi donated 25 vehicles to the Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Handing over the vehicles to APC leaders, he said they were intended to support the party’s grassroots mobilisation activities and the re-election campaigns of President Tinubu and Governor Kefas.
Tompolo said the logistics support was intended to strengthen the movement’s mobilisation structure at the polling-unit level across the state.
He urged voters in Taraba to support the APC, saying the re-election of Tinubu and Kefas would, in his view, facilitate continuity in infrastructure development and economic programmes in the state.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, also called on Taraba residents to sustain their support for the APC.
He attributed what he described as improvements in security and education to policies of the Tinubu and Kefas administrations and urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The Director-General of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign structure in Taraba, Danladi Baido, assured the party leadership that the campaign team would mobilise support for APC candidates at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Taraba State APC Chairman, Abubakar Bawa, pledged the party’s commitment to mobilising support for its candidates during the elections.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Jalingo, was attended by Governor Agbu Kefas; founder of the movement, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo; National Coordinator, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku; and leaders of the APC.
The event also featured the unveiling of coordinators across the state and the presentation of vehicles to facilitate grassroots mobilisation.
The organisers said the structure would strengthen the movement’s presence at the grassroots and enhance its engagement with communities across Taraba State ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event marked the beginning of the movement’s grassroots mobilisation activities in Taraba ahead of the 2027 general elections.
