A Support group of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Tinubu Grassroots Support for Continuity Project – 2027 (TGSC – 27) has called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his crucial quest to re-engineer the Nigerian economy and create a prosperous future for the country. The group said President Tinubu means well for the nation and is determined to restore the glory of Nigeria through bold social and economic policies aimed at long-term national stability.
The group made this known at a press conference on Friday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to the National Coordinator of the TGSC, Dr Bala Iggi, the opposition, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is behind the persistent narratives to discredit the current administration through misinformation and disinformation, while labeling them as failed and recycled politicians without ideology consistency or capacity.
Iggi stated that the TGSC project 2027 was established as a patriotic intervention to bridge the gap between government policies and the people, to support the practical implementation of economic and poverty reduction initiatives, and to ensure that the true objectives of the national reforms are clearly understood and felt at the grassroot level.
He noted that certain gaps in the implementation and communication have created opportunities for misinformation and political manipulation based on which the oppositions use to misguide less informed innocent grassroot communities.
“It is precisely these gaps that opportunistic opposition elements are now exploiting to mislead innocent Nigerians and distort the genuine intentions of ongoing renewed hope reforms.We must also be honest within our ranks, past shortcomings by some APC stakeholders including overconfidence, disconnect from grassroots realities, and insufficient engagement with citizens have inadvertently given room for such opposition narratives to gain traction. This must be corrected with urgency, sincerity and strategic grassroots re-engagement.
“Despite the multi-trillion Naira disbursements to some Federal institutions, states and local governments to counter poverty and hardship, the expected grassroot impact has not been fully realized. This gap is not necessarily President Tinubu failure of intent but of political transmission and implementation breakdown. TGSC is stepping in physically, intellectually and financially to bridge this gap by taking government achievements directly to the people, countering misinformation and opposition narratives, translating policy into relatable grassroots understanding and exercising practical business empowerment.
“TGSC is a patriotic creation of politically conscious, honest and visionary Nigerians who strongly believe that leadership and continuity of President Tinubu’s administration remains the most effective socio-political pathway to achieving real national greatness.
“While President Tinubu may be aware of the existence of TGSC Project – 27, no approval, clearance or directive was sought from him or any of his allies. However, as responsible party members, we have ensured that our volunteering activities are no hidden from the leadership of our party, the APC, Iggi added.
Speaking further Iggi said that the TGSC believes that sustaining national unity requires a leadership style that is broad-minded and accommodating, rather than sectional or divisive, adding that President Tinubu emergence in 2023 was not accidental but the product of mass strategic endurance, exceptional political intelligence and resilience against overwhelming opposition.
“Our support to President Tinubu style of administration is not symbolic. It is deliberate, sacrificial, and rooted in conviction. We invest our personal resources, intellectual capacity, and physical presence for the following reasons, one, proven courage in taking difficult economic decisions that are laying the foundation for long – term economic recovery, also strategic national and international positioning. Nigeria’s global standing is being recalibrated through calculated diplomatic engagements and economic partnerships. We are backing this administration because it is repositioning Nigeria as a serious and strategic player in international affairs, attracting opportunities that require policy stability to mature.Nigeria has suffered repeatedly from abrupt policy reversals whenever administrations change. Every disruption resets progress, wastes resources and weakens institutions”, Iggi stated.
