The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) witnessed a surge in ranks this week as the Air Force Council (AFC) approved the promotion of 37 senior officers. The ceremony, held with pride and ceremony, saw 22 officers ascend to the prestigious rank of Air Vice Marshal, while 15 earned the coveted title of Air Commodore.
Among those taking flight to new heights was Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, offered his congratulations to the promoted officers, reminding them of the weighty mantle they now carry. He emphasized the need for strategic thinking and innovative solutions to tackle the evolving security landscape. “To whom much is given, much is also expected,” he declared. “You must justify this recognition by going the extra mile in safeguarding the lives and properties of all Nigerians.”
This promotion wave signifies a renewed commitment within the NAF to excellence and leadership. As these officers take their place at the forefront, Nigerians can rest assured knowing that the skies are in capable hands.
