Fifty participants have emerged as winners in the June edition of Governor Bassey Otu’s 3rd Anniversary Projects writing Trivia, receiving direct cash rewards for their knowledge of the administration’s developmental strides in Cross River State.

‎

‎The successful participants received direct bank credit alerts of ₦20,000 each, following a thorough selection process by a dedicated panel of judges.

‎The digital writing challenge tasked young school residents and observers of Cross River State with highlighting the impact of the ‘People’s First’ administration since it took office in 2023. To qualify for a share of the ₦1 million prize pool, entrants were required to write short notes to verify breakdowns of any five developmental projects executed under the current administration across various sectors, including road infrastructure, electrification, healthcare, education, transportation, aviation youth empowerment and other sectors.

‎

‎According to the organizers, the selection process strictly prioritized original content, accuracy, and depth of understanding. Several entries were disqualified during the vetting process for plagiarism and copying the work of other participants. The final list of 50 winners comprised both indigenes and non-indigenes who effectively demonstrated how the state’s interventions have impacted local communities.

‎

‎Reflecting on the transparency of the initiative, several beneficiaries took to social media to confirm receipt of their cash prizes and appluad the gesture.

‎

‎”Thank you Governor Bassey Otu and to everyone who made this possible, money well received,” winner Winnabel Illa stated. Another beneficiary, Edo born Okokhue Prezious, added, “Thank you to Governor Otu and the team… I have received my money.” Jibril Adamu, Divine Bishung also extended their appreciation, thanking the administration, Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on PPME, and the organizing team for the seamless execution of the challenge.

‎

‎The civic engagement initiative which is in it’s third edition, was organized and sponsored through the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Projects, Programs, Monitoring, and Evaluation Mr. Ralph Adoga Morphy, alongside corporate partners Tourist Castles Luxury Suites, Divinity Logistics, and Aquacode Investments Ltd (Acquarose Limited).

‎

‎Organizers noted that the challenge successfully drove public data tracking and encouraged citizens to actively monitor and engage with the ongoing infrastructure and socio-economic progress across the state. While congratulating the winners, the team extended its best wishes to other participants for future editions of the project trivia.
