Nigeria’s first female-only Tazkiyah university has appointed Professor Bilikisu Shinkafi, as it’s Pioneer Vice Chancellor.
This historic appointment marks a watershed in Nigerian higher education, combining scholarly excellence with women-centered leadership.
Prof. Shinkafi is a distinguished Nigerian scholar and academic administrator with a Ph.D. in Fisheries Management from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Her research focuses on freshwater fish biology, ecology, and aquaculture, with notable contributions to reproductive biology, growth dynamics, and environmental sustainability of aquatic ecosystems.
With over two decades of experience, Prof. Shinkafi has held key positions at Federal University Gusau, including Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) and Dean, Faculty of Science. She has guided research programs, supervised graduate students, and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Her appointment is a testament to her dedication to education and research. Tazkiyah University aims to provide quality education to women, promoting gender equality and empowerment.
