Forty-three students of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, bagged First Class degrees during the 2024/2025 academic session, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayinka Karim, has said.

Addressing a news conference to herald the institution’s 15th Convocation programme, on Wednesday in Osogbo, Ms Karim said that the 43 graduands were among 508 to be awarded their degrees at the ceremony.

She said the graduands cut across sub-degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

“The graduands comprises; 43 First Class Honours, 190 Second Class Upper, 135 Second Class Lower, 51 Third Class, and seven Pass degree graduates.

“Additionally, 81 postgraduate students will be conferred with advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in the Department of Biological Science (Microbiology option).

“This is also alongside six diploma graduates in Arabic and Islamic Studies, marking another proud milestone in the University’s academic journey,” the VC said.

Ms Karim said that in a landmark achievement, the university would also be graduating 32 law students as its first cohort of law programme.

She said that more remarkable was that all the law graduands successfully met necessary requirements and would gain admission into the Nigerian Law School this year.

The VC said that all the graduands would be conferred with their respective degrees at the grand convocation ceremony scheduled for January 14.

She said the 15th convocation activities were designed to celebrate academic excellence, foster engagement, and strengthen the bonds within the university community.
