He said on Saturday, at about 11:00 a.m., a joint patrol team from Tafa Division, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilante Service (KADVS), while on routine patrol along Bakura Forest, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, intercepted and arrested one Saleh Ibrahim of Sabon Gayan Village.

He explained that the suspect was found in possession of three cattle reasonably suspected to be stolen.

Mr Hassan said, “Upon interrogation, he confessed to have stolen the cattle from Kafin Koro Village in Niger, with the intention of transporting them to Dikko Market, in the same state for sale.”

He added that further investigation revealed that the suspect was notorious for cattle rustling activities on the Kaduna -Niger axis.

Mr Hassan also confessed that the suspect’s father, one Ibrahim, was a known bandit, who was neutralised by security forces in Sabon Gayan Village about six years ago.

He also disclosed that on January 2, one Mustapha Jibril reported at the Dan Magaji Police Station that his Jinchen motorcycle had been stolen.

Mr Hassan said, ”Upon receipt of the complaint, the surveillance team immediately launched an investigation.

“The investigation led to the arrest of one Mohammad Hussaini.”

According to him, during interrogation, the suspect confessed to having conspired with Abdulhasif Sulaiman and Abdulkadir Idris from Durumi, Zaria City, to carry out the theft.

He said further efforts resulted in the recovery of two stolen motorcycles from the receivers’ houses.

Mr Hassan said, “However, the alleged receivers, one Beatmis ‘M’ and one Daddy ‘M’, both of Jushi, Zaria City, are currently at large.

“Investigation is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover any additional stolen property, after which all the suspects will be charged to court accordingly.”

Mr Hassan said on Friday, at about 2:30 p.m. a team of Police Mobile Force (PMF) operatives attached to Kakangi Village, Birnin Gwari, intercepted and arrested Basiru Musa and Yushau Yusuf, both of Gidigori Village, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger.

He added, “We recovered from the suspects one fabricated AK-47 rifle, with two rounds of live AK-47 ammunition, and one pump action gun with six live cartridges.”

He stated that during interrogation, the suspects mentioned one Iliya Branko in Gidigori Village, Niger as the person who allegedly issued them the firearms.

“Further investigation is ongoing,” he said.

Mr Hassan said on Sunday, one Sunday Auta aged 57 years, of Galadimawa Village, Kauru Local Government Area, reported his two biological sons, Benjamin Sunday, also known as “Tigo”, and Monday Auta, both of the same address.

“The two suspects allegedly conspired among themselves, broke their father’s door, trespassed into his house and threatened to shoot him with a fabricated dane gun.

“Upon receipt of the report, police operatives swiftly swung into action and arrested the two suspects.

” During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence, claiming that their actions were motivated by alleged maltreatment by their father and that they intended to teach him a lesson,” Mr Hassan said.

He said the Commissioner of Police (CP), Rabiu Muhammad, had reaffirmed the command’s resolve to sustain aggressive patrols and joint operations across border communities, particularly along forest corridors.

The CP vowed that criminals exploiting inter-state boundaries would be relentlessly tracked, arrested and brought to justice.
