Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has ordered the immediate demolition of SAMBEL Facility in Idoji, Okene Local Government Area of the state, following intelligence reports that criminal elements linked to terrorist groups are using the area as a hideout.
The governor gave the directive when he visited the area in an early morning operation as part of his administration’s renewed onslaught against criminality, declaring that there will be no safe haven for criminals anywhere in Kogi State.
Governor Ododo stressed that security agencies have been mandated to intensify clearance operations across the state to flush out criminal elements and dismantle all structures used to aid criminal activities in all parts of the state.
“We would not negotiate with bandits,” the governor said, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
According to him, security is a collective responsibility, adding that meaningful progress can only be achieved when citizens actively support government efforts by sharing timely and credible information with relevant authorities.
The demolition exercise, he further noted, is part of broader measures aimed at restoring peace, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety of all residents of Kogi State.
Recall that the Kogi state government in December 2025 released sweeping emergency measures that allows the government to go after criminals and their sponsors in whatever shape to form in line with existing laws and legislations against violent crimes in any part of the state.
