C’River APC Leadership Meets NASS Caucus to Strengthen Unity, Drive E-Registration

By Abasi Ita

As part of strategic efforts aimed at boosting party cohesion and strengthening the ongoing electronic registration exercise, the Cross River State leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) last Tuesday visited members of the party’s National Assembly caucus in Abuja.

The delegation was led by the State Chairman of the APC, Ntufam Ekum Ekok Ojogu, alongside the State Secretary, Pastor Patrick Asikpo. The meeting held at the office of the Cross River National Assembly Caucus Leader, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe.

Speaking during the meeting, Ojogu said the visit was part of deliberate efforts by the party leadership to deepen internal unity and carry all stakeholders along in the ongoing reform process. He noted that cohesion within the party remained critical to the success of the electronic registration exercise and other strategic programmes of the APC in Cross River State.

According to the APC chairman, the leadership was committed to building a stronger and more inclusive party structure that would enhance grassroots mobilisation and position the party for future political engagements.

In his remarks, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe described the engagement as timely and necessary, stressing the importance of collaboration between the party leadership and elected representatives. He assured the state leadership of the National Assembly caucus’ support, particularly in driving the e-registration exercise and promoting unity across party ranks.

Also speaking, Senator Eteng Williams, who represents Cross River Central Senatorial District, said sustained dialogue and mutual understanding among party leaders were key to maintaining stability within the APC. He expressed confidence that the renewed consultations would strengthen the party’s internal processes and translate into increased membership and a stronger grassroots presence across the state.

Those in attendance included members of the House of Representatives: Bassey Akiba of Odukpani/Calabar Municipality, Alex Egbona of Abi/Yakurr, Mike Etaba of Obubra/Etung, and Godwin Offiono of Ogoja/Yala.

The engagement forms part of a broader consultation process by the APC leadership aimed at consolidating party structures, addressing emerging challenges, and strengthening grassroots mobilisation as the party intensifies efforts to expand its influence across Cross River State.
