In the political system of Kogi State, where the voices of many are often stifled by allegiances dictated by party tickets, Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi stands as a shining light and a true voice of the voiceless. Representing Kogi West, he is widely recognized as a detribalized leader, genuinely committed to the welfare of the masses, rather than succumbing to the tyranny that has historically overshadowed the state’s political arena.
Senator Karimi’s recent pronouncements about forging a strong alliance with the East to liberate Kogi State from the clutches of those who have exploited its resources are far from mere rhetoric. These are statements of fact, and he has already begun to demonstrate his commitment through tangible actions. In a move unprecedented in Kogi’s history, an individual from a different senatorial district, Senator Karimi, personally covered the school fees of over 1,000 students from Kogi East. This extraordinary gesture is etched forever in Igala history, earning him the eternal gratitude of the people, stakeholders, and students of Kogi East.
This impactful act underscores a contrast: Senator Karimi has achieved what many of Kogi East’s own leaders have failed to do. While others have prioritized serving the state’s “cabals” to secure party tickets, seemingly unaware of the evolving dynamics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC compared to the Buhari era, Senator Karimi charts a different course. It is believed that he will secure the APC ticket without needing the backing of these entrenched powers, and by divine grace, will emerge victorious in the general election.
With visionary leaders like Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi, the collective voice of the people promises to resonate much louder in 2027, should God spare our lives.
