The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, said it intercepted 10 parcels of narcotics of varying sizes between January 1 and January 29, in various locations of the state.
Olukayode Afeni, the Area Comptroller, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday in Idiroko.
Mr Afeni expressed worry over rising frequency of cannabis sativa seizures, adding that 56 seizures were recorded in 2025.
“We are worried because this highlights a persistent supply chain driven by local demand.
“However, the command will be utilising all available resources to track these traffickers and disrupt their supply chain,” he said.
The area comptroller urged traditional rulers and other stakeholders to sensitise youths in their jurisdiction, so that the society could be free of drugs.
He admonished smugglers who engaged in drug trafficking to desist from such acts and turn a new leaf, to prevent them from facing the wrath of the law.
