The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC and the Association of Telecommunications Companies in Nigeria, ATCON have reiterated their commitment to boost Telecommunication services in Nigeria.
The ATCON team were at the headquarters of the NCC in Abuja to meet with Muhammed Rudman, Vice President of ATCON and CEO of IXPN.
The visit was meant to depeen engagement that reflected a shared commitment to building stronger ties between the services providers and the regulator of the Telecommunication services in Nigeria.
During the meeting, operators and regulators exchanged ideas on how to improve services, address challenges in infrastructure and technology adoption, and work together to create a more reliable digital experience for Nigerians. The conversation was candid and forward-looking, with both sides exploring ways to support innovation while ensuring compliance and consumer protection.
Industry watchers say these kinds of conversations are crucial. They humanize the relationship between policymakers and operators, allowing both sides to understand each other’s challenges and goals. When regulators and stakeholders work in sync, policies are more practical, investments are more secure, and the industry as a whole becomes stronger.
For Nigerians, the benefits are clear: faster deployment of networks, better-quality services, and a more resilient digital ecosystem. For telecom operators, it’s an opportunity to contribute their expertise to shaping policies that reflect real-world market needs.
Ultimately, the visit highlights a growing spirit of partnership in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry. It shows that when regulators and operators talk, listen, and plan together, the sector and the people it serves can move on smoothly.
