Shehu Mohammed, Federal Road Safety Corps’ marshal, has approved the redeployment of 162 senior officers in a major overhaul of FRSC’s high command.
In a statement on Thursday, Mr Mohammed said the redeployment aimed to strengthen operations and improve road safety nationwide.
He said that the strategic shake-up included the appointment of four zonal commanding officers and the redeployment of sector commanders to key states and formations across the country.
The corps marshal also approved the appointment of a new CPEO, elevating the former deputy corps public education officer, deputy corps commander Osondu Ohaeri, to spearhead the FRSC’s public communication strategy.
The affected states include the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, Kaduna, Bauchi, Imo, Benue, Yobe, Ogun, Delta, Osun, Kogi, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom.
The newly appointed zonal commanding officers are ACM C.Z. Mathew (RS5HQ Benin), ACM A.L.O. Ruk (RS9HQ Enugu), ACM B.S. Akande (RS10HQ Sokoto), and ACM Leye Adegboyega (RS12HQ Bauchi).
In the same vein, several corps commanders have been redeployed as Sector Commanders to enhance field operations.
They include AP Longkam (Kaduna), O. Ogunjobi (Ogun), VA Kayode-Oni (Benue), PE Bedford (Edo), CE Edem (Delta), FA Ajatta (Rivers), FM Kalu (Akwa Ibom), SO Ordu (Bayelsa), T. Iliyasu (FCT), KB Kazeem (Kwara), LL Fagge (Kogi), ON Okoro (Imo), ST Adebayo (Osun), SD Kehinde (Oyo), I Baba (Yobe), and CS Luka (Bauchi).
Mr Mohammed said the postings were guided by competence, track record and the demands of national service. He added that the FRSC remained committed to deploying its best personnel to positions where their impact would be most effective.
The FRSC boss charged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate professionalism, renewed commitment and strategic leadership in their respective assignments.
