Abia Renewed Hope Ambassador Chief Henry Ikoh Urged to Contest 2027 Governorship Under APC

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Inter-tribal and Inter-religion Alliance for Peace, Unity and Development has called on Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, the Abia State Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator, to contest the 2027 Abia State Governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement made available to the press by the group’s President, Ahaji Mauruf Abubakar Danja, following the Alliance’s first-quarter meeting held at Bolingo Hotel, Central Business District, Abuja, the organization praised Chief Ikoh’s exemplary leadership, vast experience, and capacity to drive progress in the state.

The statement highlighted Chief Ikoh’s achievements in business, noting that as the founder of Harmony Foam and several other successful business ventures, he has created thousands of jobs, contributing significantly to economic growth and community development in Abia State.

“His ability to manage large-scale enterprises and lead diverse teams demonstrates the strategic thinking and vision required for effective governance,” the statement read.

Chief Ikoh’s academic credentials were also emphasized, reflecting his commitment to excellence and lifelong learning, which have informed his professional and political endeavors.

Politically, Chief Ikoh has served in several capacities, including, Commissioner, and membership of multiple governing councils. He also held the position of Minister for Science and Technology and currently serves as Chairman of the Governing Council Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, demonstrating extensive experience in policy formulation, governance, and institutional leadership.

Ahaji Danja stated that Chief Ikoh’s combination of business acumen, academic distinction, and political experience positions him as the most qualified candidate to lead Abia State. “Chief Ikoh is the leader who can deliver inclusive governance, stimulate economic growth, and ensure peace and progress for all Abians,” he said.

The Alliance urged citizens, political stakeholders, and traditional leaders to support Chief Ikoh’s candidacy, stressing that his leadership would usher in a renewed era of hope, unity, and sustainable development for Abia State.
