The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Foluke Adeboye, have dedicated a parcel of land in Kampala, Uganda, for the construction of the church’s continental House of Prayer.
The church in a statement on Monday said the facility would include a state-of-the-art prayer sanctuary accommodating more than 2,000 intercessors, conference facilities for over 500 participants, residential quarters for extended prayer retreats and community development initiatives.
The RCCG, which explained that prayer transcends denominational boundaries, expressed gratitude for the support provided by Anglican, Pentecostal and other church leaders who saw the initiative as strategic for the entire African church.
“Construction is anticipated to commence in 2027, with major completion targeted for 2028,” RCCG said in the statement.
“We believe the Holy Spirit is mobilizing believers across denominational lines for a season of unprecedented intercession and continental revival,” it said.
The church stated that the House of Prayer to be established in Uganda was a strategic investment in the RCCG 2032 Vision.
It said the church intended “to establish 10,000 prayer centers across the African continent, equip 1 million prayer warriors and mobilise unprecedented intercession for continental transformation, gospel advancement and God’s glory.”
The RCCG general overseer and his wife were honoured in Uganda at a state dinner held at the State House in Entebbe and hosted by President Yoweri Museveni.
According to the statement, the reception represented Mr Museveni’s recognition of the RCCG’s contribution to spiritual advancement, social cohesion and transformation of the Africa continent.
It stated, “We are deeply humbled by this recognition, which underscores the strategic importance of faith-based institutions in nation-building and the shared responsibility between spiritual and political leadership to advance the wellbeing of our peoples.”
In his message at the reception ceremony, Mr Adeboye emphasised the need for spiritual leaders to champion both eternal salvation and practical Christian witness.
He stated that the RCCG remained committed to preaching Christ, planting churches and fostering Christian excellence across Africa and beyond.
The church thanked Mr Museveni, his wife, Janet Museveni, and the entire Ugandan government for the reception.
