An eye witness confirmed that paid thugs of the ruling APC in the state allegedly carried out the arson at the early hours of Monday morning and fled the scene shortly after.
SummitPost News reports that the thugs attempted to burn down the SDP secretariat early this month but it was foiled by some patriotic indigenes, who chased them away after they had successfully vandalized the office and destroyed furniture, vital documents and the party’s flags and signboards.
It was learnt that no arrest was made after the state party officials made formal complaints to security agencies on the first attack, a development that might have emboldened the paid thugs to launch another deadly attack Sunday night.
Both the party leadership and security operatives were yet to speak on the fresh attack by press time.
