‎AKK Gas Pipeline Nears Completion As Presidential Inspection Team Applauds Progress

A Federal Government inspection team, tagged “Seeing is Believing,” has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, which has reached 95 per cent completion.

‎

‎The team, led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, made the disclosure on Thursday during an inspection tour of the project site along the Kaduna–Kano corridor.

‎

‎The visit, also known as the “Gani Ya Kori Ji Tour,” is designed to give journalists firsthand access to key infrastructure and development projects being executed by the Federal Government.

‎

‎According to Abdulaziz, the initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to transparency and highlights achievements recorded under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

‎

‎He said project officials had confirmed that the strategic gas infrastructure was almost completed and remained on track for commissioning before the end of the year.

‎

‎Abdulaziz noted that upon completion, the pipeline would provide steady gas supply to power plants and industries, lower energy costs, increase electricity generation, and support industrial growth in Northern Nigeria.

‎

‎He described the AKK Gas Pipeline as a major infrastructure project expected to generate thousands of jobs, encourage investments, strengthen manufacturing activities and create new economic opportunities across the region.

‎

‎Speaking on the progress of the project, Hu Sassai, a representative of the Chinese engineering company handling the construction, said the firm had completed major activities including site clearance, foundation works and building structures.

‎

‎He added that equipment required for the next phase of installation had already arrived at the project site.

‎

‎The inspection team also visited Section I of the Zaria–Funtua–Gusau–Sokoto Dual Carriageway Project to assess the quality and speed of ongoing construction.

‎

‎Other projects inspected by the delegation included the Vocational and Technology Skills Acquisition City in Kaduna State, an initiative of Governor Uba Sani aimed at providing young Nigerians with modern technical and vocational skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

‎

‎The team further visited the newly revitalised General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua University of Geological Sciences and Engineering Technology, Kaduna, as part of its assessment of projects linked to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
