Albarka Church Ends 3-Day Revival, Sets 40th Anniversary for Nov 28 to Equip Pastors, Leaders

By Emmanuel Awari, Jalingo

The General Overseer and founder of the church, Rev. Dr. Nelson Duna, has disclosed that preparations marking the 40th anniversary of the Albarka Church of Reconciliation, Jalingo, have commenced.

He made the disclosure in Jalingo shortly after the end of the 3-day revival conference for church leaders.

According to him, the anniversary, which will draw prominent church leaders in Nigeria—particularly Prophet Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of Kaduna as spiritual guest speaker—will also attract the presence of Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, as Special Guest of Honour, as well as other dignitaries from across the state and various Christian denominations.

Dr. Duna further explained that committees for the event have been set up to ensure the success of the 3-day anniversary, which will begin on November 26 and climax on November 28. He assured that the event would be unique.

Speaking at the 3-day revival conference, the cleric said that the essence of the programme is to bring Christians together, particularly church pastors and leaders, to update them on global changes, as churches are currently being infiltrated by all manner of persons in the pulpits.

Dr. Duna, who is currently the Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Taraba State, and former Chairman of the Pentecostal Church of Nigeria, Taraba Chapter, further disclosed that the programme, with the theme “Revival Now Conference” and under the minister’s leadership, was also designed to impart knowledge to new church leaders, with the aim of confronting challenges in the period under review.

He added that the conference underscores the need for commitment in the church, service to God and humanity, and equipping believers against all odds.

According to the General Overseer, churches all over the world are sinking due to infiltration, where it is difficult to separate sinners from believers. He added that the annual programme, slated to take place in the church, will go a long way in addressing challenges and providing proper solutions.

Despite constraints such as logistics and funding associated with the annual conference, Duna said the gathering offers church leaders coming from rural areas an opportunity to access free medical check-ups.

On his part, the guest speaker at the conference, Apostle Dr. Peter Oluwole Akinnubi of Apostolic Ministry, the Ecclesia of Believers International, Lagos, said in his message that leaders should lead by service.

While encouraging leaders to be cautious and to understand who they are and what God expects them to do, Dr. Oluwole also reminded them of the need to exercise patience in all things, understand the pains of the people, and live in humility.

The guest speaker, who commended the General Overseer of the church, Dr. Duna, for organizing the conference, also commended church leaders for the massive turnout at the event and warned against dwelling on earthly things.

He said Christians should be content with the word of God, adding that leaders should refrain from contaminating the message from above.

Dr. Akinnubi also encouraged Christians not to avoid the political class but to resist the temptation of being blindfolded by material things.

He urged Christians not to leave God out, particularly as the 2027 general election approaches, and called on them to participate, vote according to their conscience, and pray for the continued unity of the nation and the world.
