ALBON Implements 50% Bus Fare Slash, Commends FG

The Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria (ALBON), the organisation overseeing the Owners/Operators of Long Distance Mass Transit Inter-State Bus Service, has announced full implementation of the 50 per cent bus fare reduction policy of the federal government (FG).
A statement signed by the President and the Secretary of the association, Mr Nonso Ubajaka and Mr Frank Nneji, respectively urged passengers to take advantage of Mr President’s magnanimous gesture.
It said, “All passengers travelling during this festive period are enjoined to alleviate their transportation cost to their various destinations during this festive period.”
The association also took the opportunity to commend the federal government, in particular, the Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali.
ALBON praised Senator Alkali for his tireless efforts to ensure the full implementation of the president’s generous offer, providing significant relief for the traveling masses during this festive period.
“The Association of Luxury Bus Owners of Nigeria once again commends and salutes the Federal Government of Nigeria under the listening and responsive leadership of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for this great package for the travelling masses.
“We also thank the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, for his unrelenting efforts.This indeed is the dawn of the RENEWED HOPE for us in the luxury bus industry and our numerous passengers nationwide,” the statement reads in part.
The SUMMIT POST authoritatively reports that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday approved a 50 per cent slash in interstate transport fares for Nigerians travelling by bus during the yuletide from Thursday, December 21, 2023 to January 4, 2024, free rides for commuters on all train services within the period, a development announced to newsmen by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake, announced State House correspondents at the Aso Rock Villa.
The transport fare discount was approved on select routes operated by ALBON members.
