The Ogun State Security Network Agency, also known as Ogun Amotekun Corps, has commenced the recruitment of 1,000 additional personnel to strengthen community-based security operations across the state.
The corps commander, Alade Adedigba, made this known in a statement on Monday.
Mr Adedigbe said the recruitment, which would take place from February 26 to March 13, followed the approval of Governor Dapo Abiodun and was a deliberate effort to reinforce community-based security operations across the state.
He added that the exercise was also part of efforts to consolidate gains in crime prevention, rapid response operations, and intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots.
“This recruitment initiative underscores the deliberate strategic security vision of the state government aimed at consolidating the gains recorded in crime prevention, rapid response operations, and intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots,” he said.
Mr Adedigbe recalled that about 1,300 operatives were recruited in 2025. He stated that the new intake would further boost the corps’ operational capacity across the 20 local government areas.
According to him, the additional personnel will be deployed to rural communities, border corridors, and other vulnerable areas that require enhanced surveillance and rapid intervention.
“This is in line with the agency’s main focus on building a disciplined, professional, and community-oriented security outfit that complements other security agencies in maintaining peace and public order.
“Interested candidates should apply, free of charge, through the official website: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng from February 26 to March 13,” he said.
The corps commander, however, urged applicants to carefully review the eligibility criteria, required documents, and physical standards before submitting their applications.
He added that the screening of shortlisted candidates would be held from March 23 to April 8.
Mr Adedigbe said the recruitment process was merit-based, transparent, and free, and warned members of the public against dealing with fraudsters or anyone demanding payment in connection with the exercise.
“For further inquiries, applicants should visit the official website or contact the helplines: 09016848812, 09155434770, and 07071099133,” he said.
