Addressing party officials and supporters after voting, Kefas expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the elections throughout the state.

He noted that the enthusiasm displayed by the crowd reflected the people’s confidence in the performance of his administration in recent months.

The governor highlighted achievements recorded in key sectors of the economy and assured residents that the state would continue to experience positive transformation and development.

According to him, his administration remains committed to implementing programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare and living conditions of the people.

“The protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of government, stressing that his administration has prioritised security to create an enabling environment for development across the state.

The direct primary election was conducted by the election committee headed by Mr. Samuel Agbu, the returning officer for the electoral ward.

He called on the electorate to peaceful and calm in conduc, assuring them that the election will be free, fair and transparent.

Also speaking, Special Adviser to the Governor on Politics, Josiah Sabo Kente, commended the massive turnout during the primary election, describing it as a clear demonstration of the people’s love, confidence, and support for Governor Kefas and his administration.

Meanwhile stakeholders has raise alarm over missing returning officer in Takum for the Taraba State House of Assembly in Takum Local Government have sparked concern among party members, stakeholders, delegates, and residents following the unexplained absence of the designated Returning Officer.

Despite repeated inquiries, there has been no official communication to clarify the situation or address the growing uncertainty surrounding the exercise, party stakeholders said on Saturday.

In a statement, concerned members called on the relevant party authorities and electoral officials to immediately provide clear information and direction to preserve transparency, credibility, and public confidence in the process.

“We respectfully urge the party leadership to act swiftly to prevent speculation and ensure the exercise is conducted in line with democratic standards,” the statement read.

The group also appealed to Governor Agbu Kefas and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda to intervene urgently and ensure fairness, accountability, and due process are upheld.

While awaiting official clarification, the stakeholders urged all supporters, delegates, and members of the public to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding.

The development has heightened tension in Takum, where delegates say a clear directive is needed to avoid a breakdown of order during the primaries.
