APC Stands by Governor Alia, Dismisses Defection Rumors as “Dubious” and “Gratuitous”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has come out in strong support of Governor Hyacinth Alia, dismissing recent claims of a rift between the governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “dubious” and “gratuitous”.
According to a press release from the Office of the Governor, “The persistently discontented politicians in Abuja, prompted by their own self-serving agendas, are once again enlisting in their customary ploys, making persuasive attempts to sow discord between Governor Alia and President Tinubu.”
The release further states that Governor Alia is the leader of the APC in Benue State and has successfully resurrected the party, which was on the threshold of recession prior to the 2019 elections. His performance in office has enhanced the APC and forced opposition parties into refuge.
“The governor has striven faithfully to reconnect Benue State with the federal government, culminating in an overabundance of benefits comprising plumb appointments for our people,” the release notes.
“His commitment to the ‘Renewed Hope’ mantra championed by President Tinubu is conspicuous in the transformational advancement initiatives being implemented across the state.”
The APC has urged the people of Benue to remain observant and overlook any information that lacks substantiation, emphasizing that Governor Alia is committed to serving the communities of Benue with transparency, allegiance, and unswerving resolve.
This show of support from the APC is not surprising, given Governor Alia’s efforts to reconnect Benue State with the federal government and his commitment to the party’s ideals. As the North-Central APC Forum recently noted, Governor Alia’s projects, including the rehabilitation of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, have been impressive.
