APC Support Group Leaders Forum Strategies For Tinubu’s Re-election, Install NEC

The APC Support Group Leaders Forum (ASGLF) has inaugurated its National Executive Committee (NEC) and reaffirmed its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The inauguration, which coincided with a Grand Award Ceremony held in Abuja, attracted party leaders, government officials, policymakers, captains of industry, and members of the media.

The Forum, representing registered support groups across the six geopolitical zones, said the event provided an opportunity to chart a course for deeper grassroots mobilisation, stronger internal democracy, and sustained support for the APC-led administration.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the ASGLF commended President Tinubu for what it described as bold, reform-oriented leadership.

It highlighted ongoing efforts in human capital development, economic restructuring, and institution-building, as well as policies aimed at stabilising the naira and positioning Nigeria on a path similar to emerging global economies such as Singapore and Malaysia.

The group pledged to deploy its nationwide structures to mobilise support for the President’s re-election, noting that continuity is necessary to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

It also stressed the need for discipline within the party, warning that actions capable of undermining unity and electoral success would not be tolerated.

The Forum further called for the formal recognition of support groups within the APC’s structure, including the provision of dedicated funding to enhance their mobilisation capacity.

It also urged the party to review its reward system to ensure that loyal and committed members are duly acknowledged.

ASGLF condemned attempts to create divisions within support group structures, insisting on unity and inclusiveness.

It reiterated its commitment to national cohesion, equal representation, and the rejection of ethnic or sectional politics.

On internal operations, the Forum pledged to uphold transparency and accountability while encouraging the party and relevant institutions to do the same.

It also advocated the harmonisation of support groups through inclusive dialogue and regular engagement with party leadership.

The group emphasised the importance of grassroots engagement, adopting data-driven strategies such as voter education, registration drives, and continuous community outreach to strengthen its base ahead of future elections.

It also underscored the need to expand opportunities for youths and women in party leadership and governance.

In addition, the Forum called for the establishment of a structured mechanism for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution to address grievances and strengthen unity within the party.

It further advocated merit-based criteria for party assignments, improved consultation with support group leaders, and clearer communication channels to enhance efficiency and reduce perceptions of favouritism.

The ASGLF reaffirmed its commitment to the ideals of the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda, urging members and Nigerians to remain united in the pursuit of a more stable and prosperous nation.
