Arsenal Chief Meets Gala over Osimhen

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been spotted at Galatasaray match amid reports of discussions over Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, as interest in the striker continues to grow across Europe.

Osimhen, who has been in prolific form for Galatasaray, is widely regarded as one of the most complete forwards in world football, and his consistent output has fuelled long-standing speculation over a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal, who are understood to be in need of greater attacking efficiency despite their strong position in domestic and European competition this season, are among the clubs monitoring the 27-year-old, with Berta reportedly travelling to Turkey for talks with Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek.

The meeting has also drawn public attention in Turkey, where renowned Turkish journalist Serkan Korkmaz claimed the Gunners’ interest is focused directly on the striker and insisted that only one version of events should be considered credible.

“Arsenal’s target is Osimhen!” Korkmaz stated authoritatively on X.

“The Arsenal sporting director and Özbek met last night [Sunday]. Any other claims about what was discussed in their private meeting are not true.”

“As the whole of Turkey have been hearing it from me. I will continue to share information as it reaches me.”

The developments are likely to excite Arsenal supporters, with the club’s attacking form often criticised this season despite their position at the top of the Premier League and progression to the Champions League semi-finals.

Striker Viktor Gyökeres, who joined from Sporting Lisbon last summer, has struggled to consistently deliver at the Emirates Stadium, prompting suggestions that Arsenal could seek a more established goal scorer.

Osimhen’s profile continues to strengthen, with the Nigerian forward delivering another standout performance in Galatasaray’s 3–0 victory over Fenerbahçe in the Intercontinental Derby, a match reportedly attended by scouts from several European giants including Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

The striker opened the scoring just before half-time, reacting quickly to finish from close range, before his side sealed a dominant win that strengthened their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

He now has 13 goals and four assists in 20 league appearances this season, following an outstanding previous campaign in which he scored 37 goals in 41 matches.
