Atiku, Fashola To Unveil Prof. Bulama’s Landmark Book On Nigeria’s Renewable Energy Law In Abuja

As the global transition toward sustainable power intensifies, a definitive new legal resource is set to be unveiled in the nation’s capital. Assistant Professor Bitrus Joseph Bulama of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) School of Law will officially launch his latest book, Renewable Energy: Law and Policy in Nigeria, a Crosscutting Perspective, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The event, scheduled for 10:00 AM at the NBA House, Nigeria Bar Association Headquarters in Abuja, is expected to draw a distinguished assembly of political and legal heavyweights.
A High-Profile Unveiling
The book will be officially presented by former Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, alongside the former Governor of Lagos State and former Minister of Power, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN. The presence of such influential figures underscores the critical importance of the book’s subject matter—navigating the legal complexities of Nigeria’s energy future.
Call for National Integration
In a statement ahead of the launch, Idehai Frederick, Chairman of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association of Nigeria and Senior Editor at Channel Network Afrique (CNA News), lauded the publication as a “landmark endeavor” for the sector.
”This is a meticulously researched work that arrives at a pivotal moment in our national development,” Frederick stated. “We call on the Federal Government, the diplomatic community, and global policy makers to not only support this publication but to actively adopt its insights for the benefit of the energy sector.”
Frederick further advocated for the book’s inclusion in Nigeria’s academic framework to bridge the gap between legal theory and energy policy.
”I strongly urge the Nigerian Government to integrate this book into the nation’s academic curriculum. It is essential that our researchers and future legal minds have access to such crosscutting perspectives to drive innovation and sustainability.”
Global Impact
The author, Bitrus Joseph Bulama, based in Yola, explores the intersection of law, policy, and practical application, providing a roadmap for stakeholders in a country often described as having immense, yet underutilized, renewable energy potential.
Media organizations have been encouraged to promote the work extensively, with Frederick noting that the insights within the book are intended for the “overall benefit of not just the country, but the world at large.”
