Be Punctual to Your Duties – Chairperson Urge Staff

Taraba Hold Public Hearing on Proposed  State University of Tropical Agriculture, Climate Action

Staff of the Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA in Taraba State have been urged to develop the spirit of punctuality to their duties to enhance productivity.

The state Chairperson of of the Agency, Hon Dr Leah Olusiyi Solomon stated this while addressing the during a meeting with the staff of the agency in Jalingo.

Dr Leah Olusiyi Solomon said as the board members, she deem it necessary to call for the interactive session to interface on issues and challenges affecting and to chart the way forward.

She urged the staff to open up and reveal their various predicaments to the board for redress.

She sought to know from the staff of different departments of their complaints, which were adequately responded to.

Other board members who spoke charged the staff to be proactive in service delivery.

The staff complained lack of funding, inadequate laptops, cell phones for site coverages and slashing of their salaries among other numerous challenges bedeviling the operations of the Agency.

It was observed that there are graduates and diploma holders who are cleaners which was described as inappropriate.

Also one person is holding two positions at the same time in the board which contradicted the civil service regulations.

Lack of befitting Office Accommodations was also tabled before the chairperson and her team for prompt action.

The staff saluted the Board Members for being proactive and call for the sustenance of the spirit.

On his part, the Public Relations Officer of the board complained of lack of operational gadgets, funding for News Coverages and lack of packaging documentaries to showcase the boards activities, low allowances and poor welfare.

Our correspondent gathered that from June 2020 to May 2023, the Management of CSDA got 100 Million Naira for projects execution.

After listening to the various complaints, the Chairperson of the Board, Dr Leah Olusiyi Solomon commended the staff for doing well in their various offices.

She promised that the current Board will be reducing the burdens of the staff, saying staff welfare be given top priority.

According to her, the board will be reposition for optimal productivity, stressing that issues of acting capacity has gone, assuring that all the vacant offices will be filled.

She used the forum to commended the staff and management of CSDA for working in the rural areas, calling for cooperation from all and sundry as they work diligently for the progress of the State.

Speaking, the General Manager of CSDA, Sakunga Galumje thanked the board Chairperson and her members for being proactive.

He said the State Governor has paid one year arrears and the remaining one year will be paid in due Course.

He added that the management is doing everything possible to ensure the payment of the Security Personnel to motivate them to serve the Agency diligently
