Benue Executive Council Approves Construction of 2 Overhead Bridges In Makurdi
The Benue State Executive Council has approved the construction of two overhead bridges within Makurdi, the state capital. This is a major development that is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve the flow of traffic within the city.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, Tersoo Kula, briefed journalists on the resolution of the State Executive Council, SEC. He hinted that feasibility studies were being carried out, preparatory for work to commence.
The two bridges will be constructed at the high level and Wurukum roundabouts. This is a strategic location as these are two of the busiest roundabouts in Makurdi. The construction of the bridges is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion at these points.
In another development, Mr. Kula revealed that SEC approved the establishment of the Benue Public Service Institute. This institute will be responsible for training and retraining Benue Civil Servants to enable them to deliver more effective service to the state.
The Benue Public Service Institute will replace the Benue State Staff Development Center, which has become moribund for many years. The new institute will provide training for all levels of civil servants, from junior to senior.
The construction of the overhead bridges and the establishment of the Benue Public Service Institute are both expected to have a positive impact on Benue State. The bridges will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion, while the institute will improve the quality of civil service in the state.
The Benue State Executive Council is to be commended for approving these two important projects. The construction of the overhead bridges and the establishment of the Benue Public Service Institute are both essential for the development of Benue State. These projects will benefit the people of Benue State for many years to come.
