The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State for the 2027 election, Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), has named 38-year-old medical doctor, Dr. Oyije Ochaekiti Ogbenjuwa, as his deputy governorship candidate.
Aondoakaa made the announcement during the party’s congress in Makurdi, where he also unveiled his vision for the state ahead of the 2027 polls.
Addressing party members and supporters, the former Attorney General of the Federation said his administration would place priority on tackling insecurity and ending the recurring killings in communities across Benue State.
He assured residents that his government would work towards ensuring lasting peace and the protection of lives and property.
The PDP candidate also pledged to revitalise agriculture and boost rural development, noting that Benue’s reputation as the “Food Basket of the Nation” must be restored.
According to him, youth and women empowerment would remain central to his agenda through job opportunities and support for small businesses and entrepreneurship.
Aondoakaa further promised improvements in infrastructure, healthcare delivery, and the education sector, while creating policies that would encourage industrialisation and economic growth in the state.
He added that transparency, accountability, and justice would guide his administration if elected.
The senior lawyer also stressed the need for unity among the people of Benue, pledging to promote reconciliation across political, ethnic, and sectional divides.
