The Nigerian Police Force has captured Bello Mohammed, 28, from Zamfara state, suspected involvement in the kidnapping of Barrister Ariyo’s family in Bwari and other abductions in the region.
“Acting on intelligence, officers at the Tafa Division, Kaduna, apprehended Mohammed at a hotel,” stated the Force Public Relations Officer. “He was found in possession of N2.25 million, believed to be ransom money.”
During interrogation, Mohammed allegedly confessed to participating in the Bwari kidnapping and the tragic killing of some victims, including Barrister Ariyo’s daughter Nabeeha. His alleged involvement aligns with the neutralization of five bandits in Kaduna by the IRT, reportedly led by “Godara” whose camp was dismantled.
In a remarkable display of integrity, the DPO who arrested Mohammed rejected a N1 million bribe offered by the suspect. The Inspector-General of Police has praised the DPO’s professionalism and ordered the DFI-IRT to take over the investigation. Authorities aim to apprehend all accomplices in these crimes and bring them to justice.
“The Police remain committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians,” the statement concluded. “We will relentlessly pursue perpetrators of such heinous acts and strive for a more secure nation.”
