President Vladimir Putin has urgently convened Russia’s Security Council to discuss the escalating crisis involving Iran, the Kremlin announced.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the president held a video conference with permanent council members to review the rapidly deteriorating situation and its potential impact on regional and international stability.
The discussions, which centered on Iran and the broader implications for Russian strategic interests, signal Moscow’s deep concern over the potential for wider conflict. As a close partner of Tehran and a major player in Middle Eastern geopolitics, Russia has been pushing for restraint and diplomatic dialogue.
This emergency meeting suggests the Kremlin sees the current tensions as a direct threat to regional peace and its own security calculus. Further details are expected as the situation develops.
