China Restates Commitment To Quality Education For Brighter Future Of Nigeria 

Mr. Zhang Yi, the Chargé D’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has restated commitment to partnering with Nigeria to advance the quality of Education for the benefit of Nigeria’s future and its children.

Zhang stated this on Thursday, April 25th at the China-assisted Model Primary School, Nyanya FCT-Abuja , at the formal commissioning of the upgraded school facilities donated by a leading Chinese company, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).

Zhang said “Chinese enterprises in Nigeria is contributing to the country’s educational development through their corporate social responsibility initiatives.” He assured the FCT-UBEB that the embassy will work with more Chinese companies to provide additional facilities, including ICT and digital infrastructure, to the China-Assisted Model Primary School.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities including Mr Zhang Yi, Chargé D’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, Zhou Hao, Managing Director, CRBC Nigeria Limited, Li Zuda, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, Alhassan Sule, Executive Chairman, FCT Universal Basic Education Board (FCT-UBEB), teachers, students, Chinese and Nigerian nationals.

In his remarks, Zhou Hao, Managing Director of CRBC Nigeria Limited said the company is eager and honoured to contribute to the educational efforts in Nigeria.

“Under the leadership and support of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria, and in line with our corporate social responsibility, CRBC has facilitated the replacement of schoolboards, repair of bathrooms, and the provision of tables, chairs, sports equipment, and stationery for the China-Assisted Model Primary School,” he said.
Zhou further stated that with CRBC’s numerous ongoing infrastructure projects in Nigeria, covering areas such as roads, railways, flood control, terminals, and chemical industries, the company is committed to continuously promoting the development of infrastructure in the country.

“In the future, CRBC in Nigeria will continue to follow the initiative of ‘Sharing Chinese Harmony & Performing Nigeria-China Symphony’ and adhere to our corporate mission of ‘Build roads and bridges, make contributions to the society; put employees in the first place and strive for excellence,’” he added.

Alhassan Sule, the Executive Chairman of the FCT-UBEB, expressed his gratitude to CRBC Nigeria Limited and the Chinese Embassy for upgrading the facilities of the school. He urged the embassy and Chinese enterprises to further enhance the China-Assisted Model Primary School by transforming it into a smart education institution with digital platforms for teaching and learning.

Mrs. Dada Gana Galadima, the Assistant Head Teacher of the school, extended her heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government for its continuous support. She expressed confidence that the donated materials will significantly enrich the teaching and learning experience of the students.
