The founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged members of his congregation to take an active role in Nigeria’s democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oyedepo made the call during a Sunday service at the church’s headquarters, Canaan Land, Ota, Ogun State, where he stressed that the large membership of the church gives it a significant role in determining the country’s political direction.
Speaking during a sermon titled “Breaking the Curses of Life,” the cleric said citizens should not surrender their responsibility of choosing leaders, describing voting as a means through which people can influence governance.
He advised worshippers to secure their PVCs ahead of time, warning against waiting until the election period before taking steps to participate in the electoral process.
According to Oyedepo, leadership decisions have a direct impact on national development, and Christians should complement their prayers with civic engagement.
He maintained that spiritual commitment should go hand in hand with responsible citizenship, encouraging believers to use their constitutional rights to contribute to shaping the future of Nigeria.
“We have a right to determine who rules us and this church, with the millions we are, has a say in it, so be part of it,” Oyedepo said.
The bishop’s message ended with a call for members to see participation in elections as a collective responsibility and an opportunity to influence positive change in the country.
